As Chartered Physiotherapists, we have a professional and legal obligation to keep an accurate record of our interaction with our patients and their parents/carers/teachers/other health professionals (Regulation 20 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 & Regulated Activities 2010).
As registered members of the CSP and HPCP we must remain compliant with their standards for record keeping. This includes safe storage, retention guidelines, security, processing and destruction. The details of this is set out in our Privacy Policy, which will be shared with you before we start assessing and treating your child. This has been updated to be in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018.
All patients have a right, under GDPR (formerly the Data Protection Act 1998) and Freedom of Information Act 2000, to see a copy of their health record. Please contact your Infinity Physiotherapist if you wish to discuss this.
